Connecticut Court Parenting Education Program
Connecticut Judicial Branch, Court Support Services Division
Connecticut requires parents in divorce, civil union dissolution, annulment, separation, custody, or visitation cases with children under 18 to take a six-hour parenting education program within 60 days after the case is filed. Classes cover children's developmental stages, helping children adjust to separation, cooperative parenting, conflict management, parent access, and reducing children's stress. Judicial Branch Family Services contracts with agencies statewide to run them.
