Idaho Court Assistance Office (self-help forms and Idaho Guide and File)
Idaho Supreme Court, Statewide Access to Justice
The Court Assistance Office (CAO) provides resources, court forms, document review, and legal information for people representing themselves in court or who can't afford a lawyer. Court Assistance Officers can't give legal advice, but they can explain the legal process, what to expect in court, and the risks of representing yourself, and help calculate child support and complete a parenting plan. They refer people to the Idaho State Bar Lawyer Referral Service, hotlines run by Idaho Legal Aid Services, and resources for high-conflict cases such as visitation supervisors, court interpreters, and mediators. Forms online cover divorce, custody and paternity, child support, visitation, protection orders, guardianship, and more, and Idaho Guide and File lets you complete and e-file CAO forms through a guided questionnaire.
