Court-ordered parenting education and family services (Maryland circuit courts)
Maryland Judiciary
In cases about child custody or visitation, a Maryland circuit court may order parents to attend a parenting education seminar. The seminar helps parents limit the effects of separation and divorce on children and covers co-parenting, discipline, moving between homes, communication and making a parenting plan, plus domestic violence and child abuse resources. Some courts hold classes in person and others refer parents to online programs. Courts also offer family mediation and supervised visitation. Ask your court's Family Support Services Coordinator what is available in your case.
